Julie won a national talent competition at the London Palladium at the age of 9 and has been a professional singer since the age of 16.
During her career she has made solo recordings and worked in television and radio. She has been performing live throughout the UK and overseas. Her friends were so impressed with her Debbie Harry sounding voice and looks and encouraged her to perform as a Blondie tribute act. This suited Julie as Debbie Harry had been one of her musical inspirations, and she has been performing her solo Blondie tribute act since 2008.
Julie will also be performing a non stop set from her number one hit show of dance & pop.
Ballymena born,Jim Spiers came over to England in 1989 and started playing in folk sessions around the Local area with friends. Jim had been brought up surrounded by folk songs and music from both sides of the community in Northern Ireland. After a chance meeting with Ron Newson in a local folk session, Jim and Ron soon struck up a friendship through their love for Irish folk ballads which has grown over the years and lasted from that time to now. Soon the Band ‘Coracle’ (performing here in November) came into the mixing pot. We are lucky enough here at the Poachers Pocket to have the solo talents of Jim’s wide range of vocals, from soft ballads to powerful protest songs with a few comical numbers also. He Loves nothing better than to have what he calls in his native dialect ‘A good Scraiche’ ( Sing Song ).
Gin City is a good time 5 piece blues/jazz band driven by boogie woogie paean on harmonica and guitar. With roots in early blues and swing, they also take in more contemporary blues and put the Gin City spin on it. From slow melodic to train fast boogie woogie.
Fine musicianship is seen from Simon Whitney -
The band has the ability to make you dance and generates a good feeling whenever and wherever they play. The band thoroughly enjoys playing their music and that shows through to the audience.

Tom attended Rocklands primary school near Attleborough, where he played various musical instruments, his favourite at the time being the Trumpet. At the age of 10, along with his family, he moved to Portugal and studied at the International School of the Algarve where later, having never played in public before, was a winner in the Portuguese Algarve singing competition. One of the judges, Bill Elliott of the 70s/80s group ‘Splinter’, was so impressed that he took Tom ‘under his wing’ and mentored him. Over the past few years he has improved enormously and has developed his own unique ‘Thomas Bainbridge’ style.
Tom has himself produced and recorded several of his own songs, some of which you can enjoy on the following websites:
Well known on the Norfolk/Suffolk circuit Carol has sung in trios, duos and at present is lead singer with the Blues/Jazz band Gin City. She has also been a solo artist for eight years and now concentrates on jazz standards, blues and ballads. Bringing her own style to many well known songs from many decades of music.
Always performing songs which have meaning to both her and her audience an atmosphere to enjoy a meal or sit and have a drink and bring back some memories is achieved.
Having sung in Corfu and Cyprus at private hotels and restaurants in the Norfolk area, the enjoyment of her audience has always been the most important thing.
